Pros:

Three-part cleaning is used, getting rid 98% of the dirt, dust, and debris from floors.
Has Cleaning Head Suspension System feature means you don’t need to worry what type of surface it cleans. It automatically adjusts to do the job.
Has two little brushes that push the dirt toward its back where the dust bins are located.

Cons:

It is not effective on very dark wood floors or dark carpets. It thinks dark = staircase. Don’t buy it if you have very dark floors.
The brushes will require frequent cleaning – but this is true for almost any vacuum in a pet environment.
A few customers experienced early failures of their iRobot 532. The warranty is only one year.

Finally, we received the iRobot 532 which we nicknamed Gort. It’s designed for homes with pets and we have 3 cats, so it seemed perfect for us.

It is. It really does clean. Gort happily cleaned my low pile carpet and laminate floor while avoiding curtains (a problem on older models) and he didn’t chew up power cords (another past problem). It gets the carpet really clean. Gort far outshines my prior iRobot models. iRobot really came through with development on this model.
